Who we are

Curio Bite is a content discovery app developed and operated by Algoritmo Lab. We build products that help people engage more deeply with the world around them — starting with Curio Bite, launching first in Singapore.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. If you have questions, reach us at privacy@curiobite.com.

A note on age

Curio Bite is built for users aged 13 to 18. We take the privacy of young people seriously. We do not collect more data than we need, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Where local law requires parental consent for users under a certain age, we collect a parent or guardian’s details at sign-up to meet that requirement. We explain exactly what we collect and why in the sections below.

What data we collect

1. When you join the waitlist

When you submit our early-access form, you provide us with:

• Your name and email address
• Your location (country and, where relevant, education level or age range)
• Any preferences or answers you share in the form

2. When you use the Curio Bite app

When you create an account in the app, you provide us with:

• Your nickname (the name you choose to go by — not your real name)
• Your age and country
• Your email address (optional — only if you choose to provide it)
• Your profile photo (optional — only if you choose to upload one)
• Your parent or guardian’s first name and email address

We collect your parent or guardian’s details to notify them when you create your account, and to send them periodic summaries of your activity on the app. Parents can adjust the frequency of these updates, or turn them off entirely, from the Parent Dashboard.

We also collect anonymised usage data — such as which cards you view and how often you open the app — to understand how the product is being used and to improve it. This data is not linked to your identity.

Automatically collected data

When you visit curiobite.com we may collect basic, anonymised analytics such as:

• Browser type and device category
• Approximate location at country or city level
• Pages visited and time spent on site

This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide to:

• Notify you when Curio Bite launches or opens early access
• Create and manage your account in the app
• Send your parent or guardian account notifications and optional activity summaries
• Send occasional product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Understand demand so we can prioritise the right markets and features
• Respond to any messages you send us

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for automated profiling or targeted advertising.

Third-party services

We use the following platforms to operate Curio Bite. Each maintains its own privacy policy and data protection standards.

Tally

Our early-access form is hosted by Tally.so. Data you submit through the form is processed by Tally under their own privacy policy. Tally does not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Make.com

We use Make.com (formerly Integromat) to automate internal workflows — for example, routing waitlist submissions and triggering account notifications. Your data may transit Make.com’s platform in the process.

Brevo

We use Brevo to send emails — including waitlist confirmations, account notifications, and parent activity summaries. Your email address and name are processed by Brevo for this purpose.

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase to collect anonymised in-app analytics — such as which cards are viewed and how often the app is opened. This data is not linked to your identity and is used only to improve the product.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about how visitors use curiobite.com — such as pages visited, time spent on site, and general location at country level. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity. Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC under their own privacy policy.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to monitor how curiobite.com appears in Google search results. This tool does not collect any personal data about you as a visitor.

Data retention

We retain waitlist data for as long as is necessary to keep you informed about Curio Bite. We retain app account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account or your data, or if the product is discontinued, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our third-party processors (Tally, Make.com, Brevo, Firebase, Google Analytics) maintain their own security standards. No method of electronic transmission is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International data transfers

Because we use cloud-based platforms operated by global providers, your data may be processed outside of your country of residence, including outside Singapore or the European Economic Area. Our third-party processors maintain appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict how we use your data
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior processing)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site or app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
